What is the connection between Real Heart and the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF)?
The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF) and OREA’s Real Heart Initiative share a common goal: to support Ontario REALTORS® doing good things for their communities. The Real Heart Initiative is about celebrating the many ways in which Ontario REALTORS® go above and beyond to give back to our communities. By telling REALTOR® stories, we aim to inspire others to do the same. We believe that every single contribution, no matter the size, is fundamental to a community’s strength. Through Real Heart, we will help build stronger communities across Ontario.
The ORCF is the charitable branch of OREA and enables Member Boards to practice effective and ethical fundraising in support of shelter-related causes in Ontario, helping thousands of Ontarians who need temporary or permanent shelter due to homelessness, domestic violence and or disabilities.

What is the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation?
The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation raises funds for shelter-based charitable organizations, helping thousands of Ontarians who need temporary or permanent shelter due to homelessness, domestic violence and or disabilities. The Foundation’s definition of shelter is defined as a refuge, haven or protection that provides or improves quality of life from hunger, the elements, physical/psychological abuse, disabilities and illness.
The Foundation receives most of its contributions from OREA’s 37 Member real estate boards and associations and runs two fundraisers each year: the Motorcycle Ride for Charity in July and the Jam with a Past President event in November.
In May 2020, the Foundation donated $480,000 for COVID-19 relief, helping more than 100 charities across the province. From 2016 to 2019, the Foundation granted out more than $4 million dollars to shelter-related charities throughout Ontario.
How is the Foundation funded?
The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation is funded by the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and through the ORCF’s partnerships with various corporations. All donor dollars received by the Foundation is invested, and the interest earned from the investments is allocated to shelter-related causes.
How can I make a donation to the ORCF?
You can make your donation online or over the phone with a Foundation staff member, or simply send in a cheque. Click here to make a donation.
What is the ‘Every REALTOR® Program’?
Most real estate boards, associations and their Members contribute $1 per Member, per month to the ORCF. The funds raised from this campaign, along with funds raised from events throughout the year, are used to give out grants to shelter-based organizations in Ontario. Check with your local board to see if you are already supporting this important initiative.
